Mark McKinley has served as a camp board member since 2008. God used a camp youth ministry much like Mountain Meadows Bible Camp to lead him to the Lord when he was 12 years old. He has seen God at work in the lives of many campers and staff at Mountain Meadows as well. This is probably why he is so enthusiastic about Camp. In 2014 he retired after teaching more than 30 years at Black Butte Elementary School in Shingletown. Since then God has given him a surprising amount of joy working with the camp volunteer maintenance crew on the Tuesday work days. Each of his five children have been campers and three of them have been counselors at camp. Camp has been so important in their social and spiritual development. He and his wife, Anne, enjoy spending time outdoors in God’s creation. Mountain Meadows Bible Camp, up in the fresh cool air, is a great place for that.
